Phyllis June Parmer, age 77, of Mattoon passed away at 11:07 a.m. on Sunday September 22, 2013 at her residence.
Funeral Services honoring her life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Schilling Funeral Home, 1301 Charleston Avenue, Mattoon, IL. Burial will be at a later date at Miller Hill in Pinckneyville, IL. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Schilling Funeral Home.
Phyllis June was born on December 4, 1935 in Pinckneyville, IL the daughter of Clifford and Alberta (Keller) Bidwell.
Survivors include her loving husband of 13 years Kenneth Parmer of Mattoon, IL; one son; stepson, Donald Parmer of Windsor, IL; granddaughter Kelli Sanders of Altamont, IL; step granddaughters, Jessica Seeley of Mattoon, IL and Kayela Seeley of Casey, IL; great grandchildren, Jarrett Austin, Maccie Austin, Noah Seeley, Mikala Gray and Roger Gray; sister, Nancy Cook of Henry, IL. Phyllis was preceded in death by husband Charlie Cooley in 1996; stepdaughter, Judith (Parmer) Seeley.
Phyllis June was a member of the WCTU and the Nazarene Church. She volunteered many hours at the Lifespan Center and the Red Cross. Phyllis enjoyed and was talented at quilting, knitting and crocheting. Most of all, Phyllis loved spending time with her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
